			<description>I'd be surprised if post-modernist art could deal with the theme of love in any way except cynically, even if it tried. Love as you describe it, in its expression, is necessarily in earnest and any corruption of this - as would inevitably occur to in the post modern context - would immediately contradict the idea, though it might do so both subtly and - arguably - beautifully. I think you've captured something of the essence of this painting in your description, and the reason for its popularity no doubt. - Ann M Clark</description>
